A lot of hype has been placed on the Foo Fighters recently, as they have recently released double album "In Your Honour" and are also reaching their tenth year together as a group.

"Nicest man in rock" Dave Grohl launches straight into the title track from the new album, and a huge crowd have turned up to see the Foos. "All My Life" and My Hero follow, and they sound absolutely huge, to the point that it feels that this planet alone is not large enough to hold the anthemic chorus that each song possesses, and the driving guitar and vocals that make each song what it is.

You only notice how many good songs the Foo Fighters have untill you go to see them live. "Learn to Fly", "Times Like These" and new single "Best of You" could all have been classed as their best song, but these are discarded early on in the set, and there are no shortage of anthems to follow.

Ex-Nirvana-drummer-turned-frontman Dave Grohl proves himself to be charismatic too. He gives shout-outs to the Futureheads, Jimmy Eat World and Keane, and the banter in between songs is fun and proves that although Kurt Cobain may have been a voice for a misunderstood youth, he can almost feel like a best friend that will get you a beer whilst watching some football on Sky Sports.

The best moments of the set come towards the end before the encore. Dave dedicates "This Is A Call" to legendary music venue the Glasgow Barrowlands, then follows with something "pretty special", a solo version of their most famous song "Everlong", launching straight into Monkey Wrench.

The encore lasts of two songs, on the first Dave takes the drums whilst Taylor takes on vocals, and the band end their set with "Breakdown".

The Foos may be one of the biggest bands in the world, but they haven't lost their energy to play on stage that a band like, say, Oasis have. They may have made their money, but they are still happy to do what they do best, and that is to rock.
