This is the 18th year of the FREE Talgarth Festival of the Black Mountains which will take place on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th August (bank holiday weekend) at the small market town of Talgarth, near the England/Wales border.

This year's events include a Candlelit Classical Concert in a Medievil Church at the foot of the Black Mountains, Countryside & Rural Crafts with demonstrations and exhibitions from woodturners to woolspinners and blacksmiths to hedgemakers, held in the towns livestock market. Police Dog demonstration, sheep shearing and other live demonstrations. Stalls from countryside organisations and charities. The Welsh countryside in a nutshell!, and a grand firework finale to the Festival held on the final night (Sun), and lots more....

On-site

The festival is completely free, and as well as live music festival goers can expect countryside exhibits, craft fair, food festival, poetry, gardening, fairground attractions, street entertainers, dog show, pet show, fireworks, duck race, and more based on the Town Square it caters for a variety people, ages and interests.

Locally produced food stalls, cookery demonstrations, wine tasting and homemade wine competition.

There is also free parking at the festival.

Accommodation

This event does not have camping but there are a number of hotels, hostels and guest houses in and around Talgarth.
