Swanage Blues & Roots festival 2015

The 8th Swanage Blues & Roots festival will be held from Thursday 1st to Sunday 4th October 2015.

This festival features over 50 different gigs with 100+ performers at 20 indoor venues around the picturesque seaside town of Swanage, on the South West coast.

Line-up

Thursday: An Evening With Robert Hokum, Steve Darrington and Hugh Budden

Friday: Back Porch, The Blues Duo, The Blues Issue, C Sharp Blues, Devil Drives, Kevin Brown Band, Lewis Cohen, Milly Riquelme & Tom Toomey, The Mustangs, Open Mic with Martin Froud & Johnny Sharp, Pete Harris R&B All Stars, The Riotous Brothers, The Riverside Blues Band, Robin Bibi Band, Will Killeen, and Zoe Schwarz Blues Commotion.

Saturday: 3 Buck Shirt, Assorted Buskers, Back Porch, The Blues Duo, The Blues Issue, The Blues Machine, Blue Touch, Dan Sowerby Band, Devil Drives, Fabulous Fezheads, Jam Session with Robin Bibi Band, The Jawbreakers, Kevin Brown Band, Lewis Cohen, The Milk Men, Open Mic with Martin Froud & Johnny Sharp, Pete Harris R&B All Stars, The RedCrow, The Riotous Brothers, Robin Bibi Band, Sam Paine Trio, Stan’s Blues Jamboree, The Voodoo Sheiks, and Will Killeen.

Sunday: Assorted Buskers, Back Porch, Backwater Roll Blues Band, The Blues Duo, Blue Touch, Dan Sowerby Band, Devil Drives, Festival Finale – Hugh Budden & the Blue Chords with Special Guests, Jam Session with Robin Bibi Band, The Jawbreakers, Kevin Brown Band, Lewis Cohen, Northsyde, Open Mic with Martin Froud & Johnny Sharp, Pete Harris R&B All Stars, The RedCrow, The Riverside Blues Band, Sam Paine Trio, Voodoo Sheiks, and Will Killeen.

Expect over 70 gigs by around 35 different acts in numerous indoor venues.

Organisers have had to discontinue the bucket collections due to problems with red tape, health & safety and insurance issues... so they are selling weekend wristbands instead as a pledge and a symbol of the attendees commitment these are priced at £10 for a weekend wristband.

Purchase of weekend wristbands is not compulsory although admission to each venue is at the discretion of the management and some venues may require wristbands to be worn.

Accommodation

Swanage offers plenty of places to stay and is on the Jurassic coast.

New venues include Isle of Purbeck Golf Club, Swanage Bay View Holiday Park, YHA Swanage, and the Mowlem Bar.
