Stortford Music Festival has been cancelled. Organisers made a statement saying, "We are really sad to have to announce that unfortunately STORTFORD Music Festival will not be going ahead this year as we have been unable to secure a suitable venue.
Rest assured we will be working hard over the year to make sure that 2017 is bigger and better. "
Formerly known as Woodworks, this festival takes place on Saturday 30th and Sunday 1st May 2016 on St Mary's School Field and aims to encourage the participation and enjoyment of folk arts, drawing on assistance from the local community.
Along with a UK-wide network of musicians, dancers, tutors and enthusiasts, opportunities are provided for people of all ages to come together to learn, listen, network, and enjoy live music.
There are no acts confirmed yet for 2016.
Expect over 70 acts on 4 stages all under marquees with bands, theatre companies, and other performance art groups appearing in an Arts Marquee, a couple of acoustic showcase sessions, and a comedy tent, acoustic marquee, rock tent and a bar tent with an open mic stage.
A variety of workshops are usually on offer. There's also street performance, a festival market, hot and cold food, stand-up comedy, silent disco, live sessions popping up everywhere, a chill-out tent, artistic displays (including sculptures), craft and music stalls, plus children's activities.
This event does not have camping but there are a number of hotels, hostels and guest houses in the area.
More information will be here when available.
