On a lovely rural site near the picturesque Nottinghamshire market town of Southwell with two main marquee stages and many events taking place in and around the beautiful Minster town of Southwell.

The 12th The Gate to Southwell Festival takes place from Thursday 7th to Sunday 10th June 2018.

Showcasing international performers of the folk scene, and local performers, with folk dances playing a big part over the weekend, there's plenty of opportunity to get involved in the workshops, ceilidhs, open mic stages and children's events.

Over 50 artists performing over 4 days on 4 main stages, on-site camping, kids activities, street theatre, comedy, spoken word and lots more.

Line-up

Confirmed acts include Nine Below Zero who will be heading a 'bluesy night' on the Thursday, along with headliners of Lindisfarne; The Young 'Uns; and Cara Dillon; plus Gretchen Peters, Dallahan; The Furrow Collective, Habadekuk; Blue Rose Code; Greg Russell & Ciaran Algar; Rory McLeod; John Smith; The Shackleton Trio; and more, with many more to be announced. Expect around 50 acts.

Tickets are on sale, priced at £110 for Thursday-Sunday and £95 for Friday-Sunday, with camping an additional £20.
Day tickets are also available.

Around the town

Real ale & cider festival, food and craft stalls on the festival site. Events around town including sessions in local pubs. Free parking for day visitors. Various dance teams will be appearing in the town and around the festival site.

Kids activities

As well as music there will be children's entertainment in the second marquee. The triple turreted children's tent will house various workshops and activities.

Beer festival

The festival usually also includes a beer and cider festival, with about 40 beers, mostly from micro breweries, and will include several specially commissioned brews and also offer a wide variety of catering options.
