Sensoria runs from Saturday 21st until Sunday 29th April 2012 as a celebration of the artforms of music and film. Sensoria takes place at various venues in Sheffield and its supporters include Jarvis Cocker, Richard Hawley, Martyn Ware, The Long Blondes, Reverend and the Makers and Richard H. Kirk (formerly of Cabaret Voltaire).

Line-up

Laurie Anderson will premiere her latest work, 'another Day in America' on the opening day, Saturday 21st April, at 8pm at Sheffield City Hall. There will also be a special, pre-festival Artist Talk by Laurie on Friday 20th April at Upper Chapel.

A performance of The Hunchback of Notre Dame happens the following day at Firth Hall which also hosts Metropolis, and Nino Rota and Federico Fellini: Masters of Cinema during the week.

Trafalgar House's SensoriaSpace hosts Tara Busch and an android called G.E.N.A., plus Scanner uses some of his massive archive of stolen voices from mobile phones, on Sunday 22 April.

On Friday 27th April DJ Stingray, Forgemasters, Ryan Elliott and The Black Dog present Motor City vs Steel City.

Two headphone concerts happen on Thursday 26 April - Sheffield Railway station forecourt, and Saturday 28 April - Debenhams window and Moor shop units. with Michael Eden, a tribute to Kraftwerk.

On Saturday 28 & Sunday 29 April a Crazy Art Golf course, specially created by Alan Smyth.

Bill Drummond takes a walk and hosts a talk on Saturday 21 April.

There will be two outdoor screens on Friday 27 April at Fargate, and Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 April at Devonshire Green for 2 days will feature Pop Music in British Cinema, and on Sunday presents a day of Bollywood films.

Sheffield bands line up includes The Payroll Union, Wooderson, Algiers, Death Rays of Ardilla, Early Cartographers and more.

SensoriaPro industry event speakers include film music composer Sheridan Tongue, Jay Mistry (Discovery Studios) plus Dan Mallender (Phase Music) & Ben Bleet (Howling Monkey). Many more guests to be announced..

Ticket prices vary dependant on event, and are not yet on sale.

Sensoria is a festival of film and music whose home is Sheffield – a city renowned for its creative and technical innovation and one rich in musical heritage. The festival has risk taking and innovation at its core – it is informal and informative; Sensoria loves to provide access, raise aspiration and work to encourage new talent on an ongoing basis.
