2011 marks the 20th Rhythms of the World festival. Held on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th July, expect performances of music, dance (and a few surprises) across seven stages, as well as a Family Area, art displays and the new acoustic Icehouse Stage.

Set in a parkland area in the centre of Hitchin in Hertfordshire, the festival offers rock, pop, folk, reggae, jazz and classical music from the local area and around the world. An event for all ages and musical tastes, you'll be hard pushed to find a better value day out. 2010 saw 31,000 people attend the festival - go along and help make the 20th year even bigger and better.

As 2011 is the 10th anniversary of the International Year of Volunteer, organisers also hope to recruit even more volunteers to help before and during the festival.

The ROTW committee is keen to make the event as enjoyable and safe as possible. Thanks to some careful financial planning by the charity in recent years, improvements will be made following direct feedback from festival-goers. This year these will include an increase in the number of toilets, improved trackway for disabled access and improved security.

Organisers are also planning to make future festivals 'greener' by increasing and improving recycling facilities.

More information will be here when available.
