The Rhythms of the World Festival takes place in the streets of Hitchin in Hertforshire, on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th of July and is part of the Hitchin festival.Expect performances of a worldwide range of music and dance across six stages, a children’s area, art displays and, for the very first time, a grass 'Arena' which local sporting and other community groups can use to both compete in and exhibit.

The line up for ROTW 2009 includes Jazz Jamaica, Sam Isaac, The Jive Aces, John Otway, Etran Finatawa, Magnolia Sisters, Hjaltalin, Allan Yn Y Fan, H S Talwar, and Chron Gen. Local talent includes The October Game, My Pet Junkie, Stuart O'Connor, and There Were Bears. The headliners for the Introducing Stage are Flamboyant Bella and Exit Avenue.
