Reading Festival reviews Tue 29th Aug 06 I arrive late for this lot too. Having just watched YYYs and the sunset. The tent is packed again and The Vines sound on great form and the beat has the crowd bouncing along to them. It gets to one poor bloke a bit too much and he’s helped over the barrier from the pit, nose broken and claret everywhere! As the night deepens the shadows outside The Vines go into overdrive, clearly they are a band who come into their element at night. They sure confuse me, by welcoming me there, the moment I arrive! Must have been a long first song! After a rousing rendition of Outcast’s, ‘Sorry Ms. Jackson’ the crowd are totally won over and The Vines tear through their hits before tearing up the stage literally by smashing stuff up to great applause. Another great gig, seems this stage has all the best acts. review by Scott Williams
