Turbonegro are back, anyone who read my review of Reading 2003 knows how much I like being entertained by these Norwegian punk weirdos. They certainly give the audience a lesson in how to be punk with ‘Stay Alive’ and some kid throws a bottle, bad idea he gets a hail of bottles thrown at him by the rest of the audience around him. Brilliant.

There’s certainly a lot of their fans here I’ve been seeing their denim jackets all weekend. However it seems we are not watching Turbonegro as, “Turbonegro were fired by Mean Fiddler after their sh*t performance at Leeds so we are a tribute band BabySheister, Turbonegro are now in that oldest of professions prostitution!” We are told before they launch into ‘Sell Your Body To the Night’ Whilst we get treated (?) to some raunchy gyrations by their rotund lead singer!

Cannons fire paper banknotes into the crowd during ‘Lock Down’ and after mention of the new album ‘Party Animals’ their best yet I may add. They play ‘Wasted Again’ with the lead singer gyrating with a can in hand. ‘Ride With Us’ and ‘Apocalypse Dudes’ has everyone in the crowd grinning and ‘F**k the World’, ‘Blow Me (Like The Wind)’ and ‘Erection’ have the crowd lapping them up.

Fantastic and the shouts of “Erection” continue long into the night. Hilarious, on great form and their new stuff sounds even better. Sales in denim jackets and huge ‘Vyvian – Young Ones’ Studs will soar through the roof.
