EDITORS
Dressed all in black, I expect the Editors to be rather special, but it turns out that although they play pleasing if uninspired rock they do have a few good tunes. Lead singer Tom Smith has a voice which sounds better suited to being on the stage at times, but it’s cold and monotone and at this time on a warm but cloudy morning I wasn’t up for listening to them. I tried but the sounds coming from nearby Lock Up stage sounded much more interesting.

SENSES FAIL
Now I don’t tend to pay much attention to the punk on offer on the Saturday. However listening to Editors next door I realise I’m more interested in the sound Senses Fail are making so I wander over to see them play a blinder. The American lead singer is full of energy and leaps about the stage, even climbing the PA at one point! And going from hoodie to t-shirt with great rapidity.

Their punk is nothing new but it’s well delivered and up beat with down to earth lyrics and an audience chock full of screaming girls! Infact there were so many I was beginning to think there were more girls at this year’s Reading than blokes.

The set is short and contains mostly songs from their new album so I was told. I wouldn’t know I haven’t heard any of their stuff before but it was enjoyable and entertaining to watch.
