The Welsh band opened up the morning as the first Main Stage band of the day. Hearing they were voted the Best British Newcomers at the Kerrang Awards, I was expecting them to be awful. But no I loved them!

With pounding drums, screaming soaring vocals and crunching supercharged riffs they reminded me of all my fave metal bands. Metal lives and they sound very influenced by tonight’s headliners Iron Maiden. And when one of them yells out, “Good morning modderfokers!” in his thick Welsh accent I have to laugh.

Their forthcoming single ‘Suffocating Under Words of Sorrow’ sounds excellent and is on my list to buy, the future of heavy metal looks bright. ‘Jump’ and ‘Spit you out’ – a new track are both well received and for a first act of the day they’ve got a decent crowd up and enjoying it. The mosh pit was going crazy, amazing and ‘Hand of Blood’ was the highlight!

Metallica and Pantera may be the inspiration but YEAH we have a new Brit metal band who can even get a decent circle pit going first thing on the bill!
