They’ve been all over festivals yet I’ve not seen them before, so I thought I’d better go and see the band, especially as so many people I know have not only the CDs but the T-shirt too.

The crowd are already chanting for “Biffy” when I get there. They are just introduced with three words, “Mon The Biffy!” and the smallish crowd raise a huge cheer. The backdrop is a large picture of the cover to ‘Infinity Land’ and Simon Neil, is hardly visible hidden in his hoodie with long hair and beard as they kick off with ‘Glitter and Trauma’.

New and old songs are presented to us and it’s not long til the Scots have worked up a sweat and clothes are being cast aside. ‘All the Way Down’ is greeted with huge cheers and the front of the stage are bouncing wildly and so are the boys on the stage.

‘My Recovery injection’ gets a huge cheer and ‘Just Boy’ has the crowd all singing back to the band. Other tracks include ‘Asexual wheat Pigeon’ and the blistering closer ‘57’. I’m really impressed and not surprised so many folks at Reading are wearing ‘b’ T-shirts all weekend.
