The third annual Playgroup Festival moved back a month and now runs from Friday 21st to Sunday 23rd September at Eridge Park, Eridge Green, near Tunbridge Wells, in Kent, and eFestivals is offering one lucky reader the chance to win a pair of tickets to be a the event organised by the popular Brighton collective and owners of The Blind Tiger.

With an expected attendance of only 3,500 guests, a handful of stages for live music, magical mystery tour buses, a cinema tent, headphone disco, installation art, fresh local produce, a family area, cabaret and walkabout performance, workshops and games, a healing area, 100% audience participation and a heavy dash of the absurd.

The music policy includes a selection of the best electronica and live acts from the South East of England. With music from DJ Yoda, Alice Russell, DJ Format, The Herbaliser, High Rankin, Reso, Nedry, Belleruche and a few secret headliners performing toe-to-toe with emerging grassroots talent. Tickets holders will also be able to march across the site with colourful samba band Carnival Collective and dance like Esmeralda with a roving gypsy swing collective. There will also be musical treats in the woods with techno badman Matt and his steam powered monophonic midi machine.

This year the festival welcomes Bompas and Parr graduate and Animal Vegetable Mineral co-owner Tasha Marks to programme their new and improved cabaret tent. Opening her 'cabinet of curiosity' revellers will be able to sample inhalable cakes, perfect the art of taxidermy, take part in lectures hosted by the V&A museum, construct edible poetry with Eat Your Words and watch titillating burlesque care of the bombastic Coco Deville.

Self confessed paparazzi and Burning Man veterans Suck My Rock will sail into the festival aboard a hand crafted exotic pirate ship photo booth. Supplying their patented free sticks of rock the crew will be available all weekend to take portraits. Ticket holders are also invited to limber up for interactive games with the Toy Town Olympics and for little ones, there is a scheduled timetable of events that include circus tomfoolery and fairy tales.

Around the festival there will be chances to discover roaming performers hiding out in the nooks and crannies of the forest. Catch The Quick Red Fox poets performing impromptu prose or grab your pocket watch say "ah-hell-air" to The Chaps who will be charming their way around the site with a mobile disco. Lost toys are also invited to board The Imaginarium cart for lessons in Victorian animation with zoetrope building and craft workshops. Brighton theatre group Shambush will also be on hand to provide their insane mix of interactive gaming, performance and dress up.

For chance to escape it all there's the pop-up cinema and theatrical restaurant The Hurly Burly to take the weight off. Powered completely by solar energy the cinema-cum-eatery is open 24 hours showing independent short films and providing a tasty menu of locally sourced gourmet vegetarian food.

Playgroup will be fully kitted out with stalls serving gastronomic treats, including pulled pork cooked for 19 hours on site, from the Kent and East Sussex area. Away from all the hubbub and activities is the specialist healing fields where punters can align their chakras with a gong bath, yoga and shiatsu massage.

The dress code: Each ticket holder will be allocated a character (robot, dinosaur, tin soldier, cowboy, ragdoll, monster under the bed, puppet or teddy bear). Dressing up is highly encouraged as there are lots of activities themed around specific characters.

Tickets are priced at £95, including three nights of camping. There's also a non refundable deposit scheme priced at £20 with a balance of £75 to pay later. A teen weekend ticket (aged 12–17 years)is priced at £77. Children aged under 12 can attend for free, as long as they are accompanied by an adult.
