THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED.
The new owners of the business, have decided to cancel this year's event due to rising costs. There is a possibility it may be held next year.

====================
The Gateway To The Moors Festival is the new name of the former Pickering Folk Festival that was re-scheduled for May Bank Holiday weekend and has been moved again to Friday 14th until Sunday 16th August 2009.

The festival organising company has been taken over, and there simply wasn't time to put together a new festival and guarantee that it would be a quality event.

The festival will be held in the parkland at the Pickering Showground and Ryedale Arena in Pickering, North Yorkshire, it was forced to cancel in heavy flooding in 2008.

The festival will offer indie and acoustic acts in two large marquees within the grounds. Music will start around 7pm on Friday and run from midday on the following two days.

The current line-up is still to be confirmed.

There will be a full programme of events for children. This will include performance, circus skills workshops, face painting etc.

Tickets
Are not yet on sale, those who bought tickets for the 2008 are being offered the option to exchange them for VIP tickets for 2009. The refunds will commence on Wednesday 27th August in an alphabetical order.

Camping
Camping is expected to cost around £10 per adult for the weekend.

There will be two large bars on site offering a wide range of good quality beers, wines and spirits as well as soft drinks, a wide variety of catering stands on the grounds, and a trade and craft fayre on offer.

More information will be here when available.
