The Australian Peats Ridge Festival takes place at Glenworth Valley, New South Wales, in Australia, and offers ten stages of music from Tuesday 29th December 2009 until Friday 1st January 2010. The whole festival runs entirely on renewable energy.

Tickets

An adult ticket for the whole event is priced at $285 (approx £160), a youth ticket (aged 13 -17) is priced at $70 (approx £40), a child ticket (aged 6-12) is $20 (approx £11) with children under 6 able to attend for free. To buy tickets, click here.

Camping

Onsite camping is included in the cost of a season pass, gates open at 9am on Tuesday 29th December. There are two main camping areas - one is vehicle free and one area that is vehicle friendly where you can camp next to your vehicle. There is also family camping available set slightly away from the main campsite for the sleeping babies. Drummers camping set slightly away from the main camping, is also available for those wanting to be able to make as much noise as they want. There is also provision for caravans and campervans in the vehicle friendly campsite.

Early bird camping

Early bird camping is offered a day early on the 28th, at price of $30 (approx £20) per person and can be purchased on the ticket link above.

Other entertainment

As well as the music the festival offers a New Years Eve Fancy Dress Masquerade, performance arts, site-specific installations, healing area, international cuisine, as well as a full programmes of theatre, cabaret, comedy, free workshops, and a children's festival.

Accommodation

For those festival goers not wishing to camp there is accommodation available in local hotels near to the event.

Green ethos

A major part of the Peats Ridge experience is finding out how to live more sustainably and therefore reduce our impact on the beautiful Glenworth Valley and the planet as a whole. There are many ways to experience this in action at the Festival with initiatives to minimise human impact on the festival site with 100% biodiesel generators, odour free composting toilets, grey water management, container deposit system, organic waste composting, reclaimed materials for decoration, certified organic food at the stalls, biodegradable cutlery, onsite bike couriers, natural ink printing and chemical free cleaning products.

Getting there

There are good international transport links to the main airport Sydney. The festival has car pooling programmes and is accessible by public transport using trams or trains. The closest train station is Gosford. There will be a shuttle bus running from Hornsby station to the Festival. Follow the signs from the station to the bus pick-up point.
