The unique and creative Wye Valley River Festival will flow down from Hereford to Chepstow between Friday 29th April and Sunday 15th May 2016.

Programme

Hereford
Friday, April 29  – Evening into night time Festival Launch Event :
Visual spectacle of water, fire, music and performance. This launch event will herald the first 'Wye Serai'- the encampment of performers and shows that will travel downriver.

A procession of illuminated water monsters herald the arrival of the magical Samovar.

Saturday, April 30 – Hereford River Carnival and daytime Wye Serai
A full day of family fun with music, dance, food and drink with processions, a fantastic flotilla and thousands of origami fish. Water rituals and aqua play erupt with the Water Ones as the Samovar fore is finally lit and the first Wye Teas are served.

Ross on Wye
Sunday, May 1  –    Daytime Wye Serai
The Water Ones continue their stories - celebrating water, life,rivers,seas, washing up, teas and tears- with evocative dances, spillages,songs and silliness

Lydbrook & Bishopwood Breakfast

The River A&E Ambulance tests the river's health and the Caravan of Fact and Wonder explores the mysteries and subtleties of H20, streams, ponds and drains...

Fire torches and musicians converge to meet at the river's adge. Fantastic illuminations will light the riverside as choirs join with the Water Ones to bless the waters of the Wye

Sunday 15 May - The Grand Finale
Evening performance of the Wye Serai - a river shaped fire sculpture, lanterns in the woods - the resolution of all the water stories and the final servings from the Samovar

Searai (a place for coming together of travelling caravans)
The Wye Serai- the main performance and activity space created around three intriguing caravns of Curiosities and Hydrosities, a 'River Ambulance' and a mysterious Samovar. Add the Water Ones wrangling in a comic chaos of puring and spilling, singing and dacncing, as the river characters share their watery dreams
