In 2011, after a two year hiatus, Readipop took over the running of Caversham Festival. Readipop is an arts charity that creates community projects and workshops that explore music, sound, image, technology and beyond. Now in its 13th year, the event includes 3 music stages, food, children's workshops, fairground rides, boat rides, arts and craft stalls, dance demonstrations, performance art, theatre and much more. The festival's main aims are to promote local businesses, community groups, artists, performers and charities in Caversham. Anyone interested is highly encouraged to get in contact and submit ideas to Readipop so that they can get involved and be included. All ideas will be considered. There are already some scheduled events that fall within the festival dates, which Readipop hopes to enhance with extra arts activities. These include a Summer Fayre, put on by Thameside Primary School and a Church Fete in Caversham Court. Readipop are keen to boost the musical, local arts and cultural aspects of this event and create a strong annual showcase for Readipop's projects.
