Jamfest, a mini Urban festival in Leicester, takes place three days from Thursday 14th to Saturday 16th October, boasting a wide array of creative styles and art-forms.

Line-up

Thursday: (8:30pm – 2:00am) A variety of musical acts with sounds ranging from Latin inspired hip hop to synthetic Brit hop and a bit of everything in between. Headliners include Elmahico, and Queens English.

Friday: Hip Hop + Dubstep (8:30pm – 2:00am) B-Boy showcase from Nottingham-based crew Groundhogs. Also on the night will be a scratch battle comprising of multiple, talented turntablists, including DJ Pos, and a series of skilled hip-hop DJs and Mcs. John Maveric headlines the night.

Saturday: (8:30pm – 3:00am) The line-up includes DJ Cutz, Aeroplane Dope, and The Jellyhead Collective.

Every day

For the three days that the event is being hosted, there will be an exhibition selling urban art. This will run from 12:00pm – 6:00pm daily. Additional street elements will be added with live graffiti artists every night including Dones, and Emptea KB. Every night of the festival will feature two different artists.

On site

Also featuring at the festival will be a selection of stalls including hand made jewellery stalls hosted by Purple Turtle Beads and Vontrash, a custom t-shirt stall, entertainment from fire juggler Iain Purves, Emptea KB giving an old VW camper van a graffiti make-over, a designer cupcake stall, and a soul-food stall hosted by UK Urban Culture's in-house chefs.

Tickets

Ticket are priced at £6 per night (£7 pound on the door), and available at Rockaboom (Leicester), and 2Funky (Leicester). Venue

A multi-tiered venue, with an ample stage, seating and dance floor, The Music Café is conveniently located in the vibrant Braunstone Gate area, close to the city centre and the within walking distance of De Montfort University.

Accommodation

This event does not have camping but there are a number of hotels, hostels and guest houses in the area.
