The Fling is a one day festival which offers live music, cabaret, and curiousitie (sp) on Saturday 4th July 2009 at Central Park, Chelmsford.
The event has at least five performance stages offering music, cabaret, comedy, wordsmiths and exotic dance from 4pm right through to 11pm. The music stage will be hosted by Barhouse and will provide an eclectic mix of bands from the town's ever-growing music scene.
Once within the site, all activities are free and in addition to the music stage will include; a Cabaret Tent; A Comedy Tent hosted by The Comedy Club; An Exotic Dance Tent; A Wordsmiths Stage curated by Chelmsford's Howl and London's 14 Hour; Adult Storytelling; Craft and Body Painting activities; A Mini Casino (for a local charity to be confirmed); A Massage and Therapy Space; A Sandy Beach; and Sideshows and other curious activities, to be confirmed.
There will also be a selection of food, soft drinks and alcohol available to purchase at the event.

Domes, teepees and that giant sand pit will also fight for attention, enticing people inside with tall tales, crafty treats, a silent disco, opportunities to build sandcastle towns or simply to get a pint of beer.
