last updated : Wed 5th Mar 08 Shepley Spring Festival is to enjoy a second year in 2008, with a full weekend of events celebrating the best of traditional music, song and dance, including concerts, ceilidhs, morris dancing, music and dance workshops, a beer festival, music and song sessions and a full programme of youth and children's activities. Based in the rural community of Shepley in the heart of the Yorkshire Pennines, the festival events will be based around a large greenfield site on the edge of the village with campsite adjacent. Shepley is close to motorway links and has its own railway station on the Huddersfield to Sheffield line. Artists booked so far include: Bellowhead, Peggy Seeger (with Norma Waterson, Mike Waterson and Martin Carthy), The Demon Barbers, Roy Bailey & John Kirkpatrick, John Tams & Barry Coope, Crucible, Uiscedwr, Bella Hardy, Whapweasel, Park Bench Social Club, The Askew Sisters, Mick Ryan & Pete Harris, Breabach, Hekety, Spiers & Boden, Laura Hockenhull, Roger Davies, Ella Edmondson, Crowfoot from Canada, 'La Brianzola' from Northern Italy, 4 Square, Vicki Swan & Jonny Dyer and New Mill Male Voice Choir, Yorkshire Garland Project, Bryony Griffith & Will Hampson, and more - click here for all the details to date. More are still to be announced. Tickets are on sale, prices as follows adult £58 (camping £10 extra), youths aged 12-16 years £29 (camping £5 extra).
