The three day Riff Raff Festival will take place at Bradley Nook Farm, Hulland Ward, Ashbourne, in the Peak District from Friday 12th until Sunday 14th September 2008. The festival will focus on music, arts, community and the environment.
The line-up will include anything from jazz to folk, broken beats to acoustic and reggae to jungle amongst a myriad of other musical styles combined with eco friendly structures and workshops.
The confirmed artists include The Dust Collectors, Ragtime, Tramps & Horses, Cecilia Patko, Ash Vanguard, NFQ, Unknown Creatures, Varnation Steppa, Mahood, Nova robotics, DJ Soesmix, Jalporte, Muma, Sam & The Plants, DJ Hungarian Pimp, Health And Safety Executive feat. ID-Entity, Out Of Karma, M'Alloy, Eleanor Lee, Arsey Rob, Omega Master System and more to be announced.
Public tickets for the festival are limited to 400 and are now available to be purchased on the day at the site for £30. All profits will be used to help future community developments.
A forest trail will feature art installations, sculptures, video projections and a giant chess set. Structures will include marquees, yurts and a tepee.
The workshops include the art of building a yurt, constructing an earth oven to bake bread, willow lantern making, giant puppet making, singing, percussion and are designed to entertain as well as to inform.
Families with children are welcome (free entry for children under 12).
Food can be purchased at the site. No alcohol on sale - so bring your own. The 109 bus runs from Derby and Ashbourne (Bradley Nook Farm stop). The event starts at 2pm on Fri 12th September and finishes at 12am on Sun the 14th.
