Fresh Festival ushers in Liverpool's ‘Capital of Culture’ year with a blast of new collaborations and music-making from the forefront of the contemporary scene. Across three days and several venues, all in the footprint of Liverpool's Philharmonic Hall, a compelling line-up of local, national and international artists are encouraged to forge new ground and create new work together, heralding an exciting, forward thinking and ‘fresh’ start to the new year.

The headline concerts are a one-off concert that sees jazz legend Wayne Shorter and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra work together for the first time, plus a never attempted improvising sound clash by The Bays and The Heritage Orchestra.

In addition to the two headline concerts, there is a hive of activity to be found in the Rodewald Suite, the new smaller venue at the Philharmonic Hall, plus some of Liverpool’s finest underground music clubs and spaces such as Magnet and The Bumper which represent the exciting underbelly of creativity in the city of Liverpool. All the venues are situated within a few yards of each other on and around Hope Street.

Tickets are on sale, with a Festival pass (only £10) granting entry into all of the gigs apart from the two headliners, or if you buy a ticket for Wayne Shorter or The Bays / Heritage Orchestra you get to see the rest of the festival for free (events below marked with a * are FREE with the Fresh Festival Pass).
