Boogie Woogie Festival 2008 last updated : Tue 20th May 08
The 4th UK international Boogie Woogie Festival will be held at Sturminster Newton and Fiddleford, Dorset from Friday 4th to Sunday 6th July, and was formerly the 'Fomag' boogie woogie festival held in nearby Fontmell Magna.
Headline acts include: Vince Weber (Germany), Renauld Patigny (Belgium), Papa Don Washington(USA), Eeco Rijken Rapp (Netherlands), Jelly Germaine (Camaroun), and Big John Carter (UK).
Performing at the Fiddleford Inn on Friday are Elliot MacKrel and David Williams of Kangaroo Moon with Dave Hatfield on Double Bass. Saturday the inn has a piano session in the afternoon and an evening with Three Tuns o' Grass, and Sunday evening is Sneaky Pete and The Vipers.
The Fiddleford Inn events are free Ticket. Concert tickets are £ 22.50, Children under 14 years £10 and an all event ticket costs £65 per person (this includes 3 workshops of your choice, the History of Boogie Woogie talk, 2 concerts and the youth showcase event). There are family all event tickets (2 Adults and 2 Children) priced at £195 with extra children tickets priced at £20 each. Workshops are priced at £10 for an adult tickets and £7 for an under 14 ticket. Performing in concert will be international boogie woogie and blues pianists from all around the world. There are also workshops in boogie woogie piano, swing and tap dance, drumming, history of boogie woogie and more with special workshops for children. Plus there is food, wine, real ales at the Fiddleford Inn and other local accomodation.
