The Music and Arts festival, Optimus Alive!08, takes place in Lisbon, the capital of sunny Portugal, between the Thursday 10th and Saturday 12th of July.

The festival line-up includes the long awaited return of Rage Against The Machine, the legendary Bob Dylan and Neil Young, the crowd favourite Ben Harper, Vampire Weekend, MGMT, The National, Cansei de Ser Sexy (CSS), Gogol Bordello and Gossip, and many other big names.

Thursday's line-up has Rage Against The Machine, Gogol Bordello, Cansei De Ser Sexy, The Hives, The National, Spiritualized, MGMT, Vampire Weekend, Hercules & Love Affair, Galactic Feat Lyrics Born And Boots Riley (Of The Coup), Tiga, Peaches (Dj Set), Sons Of Albion, and Boys Noize.

Friday has Bob Dylan, Within Temptation, John Butler Trio, Nouvelle Vague, Uffie And Feadz, Dj Medhi, Sebastian, Vicarious Bliss, Mr Flash, Krazy Baldhead, and Busy P.

The final day, Saturday includes Neil Young, Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals, Donavon Frankenreiter, Roisin Murphy, Xavier Rudd, Gossip, MSTRKRFT, and Brodinski>

With the Tagus River as landscape the festival has arts as well as music on offer. There is no camping at Alive Festival. Tickets are priced at £64 for 3 day weekend pass, or £36 a day. To buy tickets, click here.
