WIMFEST, the Liverpool Women's International Music Festival takes place on 2nd July 2006. The one day festival will feature international, national and local women musicians including Karen Mathieson, Yasmin Levy, Cara Dillon, Kathryn Williams, Amy Smith, Angie Palmer, Jennifer John and Virginia Haze.

The festival, which was organised because of the narrow view of women performers in the media is now in its third year and is estimated to reach 16,000 women in the North West.

In addition to the main festival the organisers are running two separate events held in the following week. WIMFEST unsigned, which features a number of unsigned women musicians is held on Wednesday 5th July at 33/45 in Parr Street, Liverpool. WIMFEST plugged will feature just women musicians including Love Bites, Bexy Sitch and Tiny Tin Ladies and is held on Friday 7th July the Barfly, Seel Street, Liverpool.

Tickets are priced at £18.50 for the festival, £5 for WIMFEST unsigned and £3.50 for WIMFEST plugged and are available from the Royal Philharmonic Box Office on 0151 709 3789.
