Last updated: Mon 10th Apr 2006

A London festival that started in 2005, with a vision of bringing music, art, business and parties under one unifying umbrella. Five venues will host official label showcases in the surrounding Shoreditch area. “We’re focussing on the Festival and the Workshop as the two best elements of our first year,” says Encompass’s Jon Terry.

Each night an Encompass wristband will give you access to every showcase. There will also be an extended programme of partnered events across London including gigs, exhibitions, talks and discounts. You can alternatively buy one wristband for £45 which will give you access all weekend (this is where the ticket link takes you)

The Workshop on May 13th will take place during the day and is an opportunity to learn more about the culture and business behind music. It will be aimed at all music fans and those wanting to learn more about the behind the scenes workings of the music industry. From one to one 15 minute mentor sessions with accountants, managers, agents, lawyers and publishers to interviews with artists, label directors and industry figureheads the workshop will give fresh insight to those already in the industry and a wealth of knowledge to those looking to gain access into the business of music.

Workshop/Day: 2pm to 8pm on May 13th
Festival/Night: 6pm onwards each night, from the 11th until the 14th May

See the festival website for DJs and live acts.

Don Letts (filmmaker), Mark Jones (Wall of Sound records) and Keith Reilley (Fabric) will feature the workshop seminars.

More details and artists/acts to be announced in 2006.
