This celebration of Portuguese music features many of Portugal's most distinguished artists performing a breathtaking variety of music, ranging from contemporary fado to experimental electronica, alternative pop to ethno/folk and upfront club music. Many of the featured artists will be performing in the UK for the first time.

The programme for 2004 includes:
Fado from Cristina Branco on 23rd September at the Purcell Room.
Contemporary sounds from OrchestrUtopica on 8th Octoberin the Purcell Room.
Ethno/folk - concertinas and drums from Danças Ocultas and Rui Júnior e O Ó Que Som Tem? on 12th October in the Purcell Room.
Experimental/electronica sounds from Autodigest versus Lol Coxhill, Rob Mills & Alan Wilkinson, Paulo Raposo and Janek Schaefer. on 4th November at The Spitz.
Lyrical folk/fado/pop chanteuse from Dulce Pontes on 7th November at the Barbican Hall.
Improvisation from Jorge Lima Barreto, Vitor Rua, Sunny Murray, Jac Berrocal, Carlos "Zíngaro", Gunter Mueller, John Butcher, and Martin Tetrault on 18th November in the Purcell Room.
Alternative pop from The Gift on 21st November from at Cargo.
A Club night with Lisbon DJs, the Dezperados on 26th November at Cargo.
Contemporary music from Apollo Saxophone Quartet on 1st December at the Union Chapel.
Finally more Fado, this time from Ana Sofia Varela, and Carla Pires on 7th December in the Purcell Room.
