This is a real festival hybrid. Having taken a break last year, Optronica is returning for a second time, to explore the fusion of music and visuals. There are live audiovisual performances, screenings, illustrated talks, workshops and related special presentations.

On Optronica's opening day, Wednesday, 14th March at 8pm, at the British Film Institute, there are two World Premieres of contemporary visual music performances with Trevor Jackson followed by Deakin & Franglen of Lemon Jelly on .
On Thursday, 15th March at 8.30pm Christian Fennesz & Charles Atlas feature in another World premiere - their new collaborative venture, and Semiconductor, again at the BFI Max.
Friday 16th March features another double bill at the British Film Institute, starting at 8.30pm with Peter Greenaway and Addictive TV in a World Cinema remix set.
On Saturday,, 17th March, at the ICA, there's Optronica's Club AV, open from 8pm-1am, with Speedy J/Scott Pagano, Post+Kane of EBN; Exceeda/VJ Anyone, Motorboy + guests.

Also on the bill are Japanese audiovisual artist, Ryoichi Kurokawa; the Berlin-based Rechenzentrum with a brand new AV show; and the Spanish team behind Reactable; plus talks - including one from Cindy Keefer from the LA based Center for Visual Music.
