The Music and Arts festival, Optimus Alive!09, takes place in Lisbon, the capital of sunny Portugal, between the Thursday 9th until Saturday 11th of July, with bands starting at 5pm each day.

Thursday's line-up is confirmed as including Metallica, Slipknot, Mastadon, Lamb Of God, Erol Alkan, and Crystal Castles. Friday has Placebo, and The Ting Tings, and the Dave Matthews Band, and Los Campesinos! will play on the Saturday. With many other big names yet to be confirmed.

With the Tagus River as landscape the festival has arts as well as music on offer. There is no camping at Alive Festival, and festival goers are recommended to book accommodation in Lisbon early.
