Each year MELTDOWN offers a guest director the chance to produce his or her own fantasy festival, mixing artists and art forms, reflecting their own personal passions and interests.
This year, the Artistic Director is Patti Smith, and the following events are now confirmed:-

Feat. Lenny Kaye, Johnny Marr & The Healers, Bert Jansch, Robyn Hitchcock, Roy Harper and Patti Smith. Ballroom Floor: Tibetan bonpo Monks perform sacred masked dances
Saturday 25th June (Royal Festival Hall): Patti Smith performs Horses and The music of John Cale with special friends Flea, Nick Franglen, Terrie & Andy (The Ex), David Dramm, Dominic Blum, Lucas Niggli, Marino Pliakas as the Meatgrinders
Saturday 25th June (Queen Elizabeth Hall): Tinariwen and support from Yat-Kha
Sunday 26th June (Royal Festival Hall): Songs of Experience - the work of Jimi Hendrix and the music that inspired him feat Feat. Jeff Beck, Flea, Joanna Newsom, Balanescu Quartet, Yat-Kha and Patti Smith.
There's also an exhibition of Patti Smith's photos, and more events still to be announced.
