The dates for Meltdown 2008 are confirmed as Saturday 14th to Tuesday 24th June.

Each year MELTDOWN offers a guest director the chance to produce his or her own fantasy festival, mixing artists and art forms, reflecting their own personal passions and interests. The director for 2008 has been announced as trip-hop legends Massive Attack.

Massive Attack themselves will be playing twice at the Royal Festival Hall on Saturday 14th and Sunday 22nd June. Fuck Buttons will play playing on the Ballroom Stage at the Royal Festival Hall immediately after Massive Attack's set in the main auditorium. There will be a series of free post-show performances on The Clore Ballroom stage throughout the festival, including Malakai (Saturday 21 June), the Bristol two-piece championed by Portishead's Geoff Barrow amongst many others.

24 June - An Evening with MC5 and Primal Scream - both play separately before they come together for a collaborative set.

13, 14 & 19 to 21 June - For five nights during the festival there is a Silent Disco, which will include sets by guest DJs including Massive Attack's Daddy G (Friday 13 June), James Lavelle (Saturday 14 June), Peaches (Thursday 19 June), Kieron Hebden aka Fourtet (Friday 20 June), and Andrew Weatherall (Saturday 21 June).

The Clore Ballroom
There are free late-nights events at The Clore Ballroom, these include: Saturday 14 June Fuck Buttons, and Don Letts; Thursday 19 June Ebony Bones, and Alexis Taylor; Friday 20 June Trojan Sound System; Saturday 21 June Malakai.

There will also be screenings of Shane Meadow's Somers Town, In Prison My Whole Life, BUG: Massive Attack's Videos, and Blade Runner: The Final Cut.

There are more artists and events to be confirmed including, a pre-show sessions with Trojan Sound System And Blast Theory's Day Of The Figurines.
