The final preparations are being made for the legendary Reading and Leeds Festival taking place over the bank holiday weekend, from Friday 24th to Sunday 26th August. The bands are getting set to play to the best audiences of the summer and lots of other activities are being lined up at both sites to keep everybody entertained.

The opening night is headlined by Foo Fighters with their only UK appearances of the year, The Cure headline Saturday with their only UK shows this year, and Kasabian will make their only festival appearances in England and Wales of 2012 closing Leeds on Sunday.

Also confirmed are NME/Radio 1 headliners The Maccabees, At The Drive-In and Justice with Metronomy topping the bill on the Dance Stage. Other bands also announced are Paramore and The Black Keys with their only UK festival appearances, Florence + The Machine, Kaiser Chiefs, Bullet For My Valentine, All Time Low, The Gaslight Anthem, Bombay Bicycle Club, You Me At Six, Crystal Castles, Angels & Airwaves, Coheed & Cambria, Cancer Bats, Deaf Havana, The Vaccines, Enter Shikari, The Shins, OFWGKTA, Mystery Jets, Blood Red Shoes, Eagles Of Death Metal, Band Of Skulls, Pulled Apart By Horses, Sleigh Bells, The Subways, Veronica Falls, Feeder, Young Guns, Lower Than Atlantis, Bassnectar (DJ Set), The View, The Futureheads, Benjamin Francis Leftwich, 2:54, Alberta Cross, Alt-J, Bastille, Blood or Whiskey, Citizens!, Deap Vally, S.C.U.M, The Cast of Cheers, The Knux, The Minutes, Theme Park, Toy, Young Guns, We Are Augustines, Zulu Winter.Foster the People, The Courteeners, The Cribs, Billy Talent, Miike Snow, Two Door Cinema Club, The Horrors, SBTRKT, Katy B, Azealia Banks, and more. Over six stages and three days, Reading and Leeds Festival is one of the music events of the summer with the biggest exclusive names and the hottest up and coming bands playing to the best festival audience in the world.

General sale tickets are priced at £197.50 for a weekend ticket. Early entry tickets enabling festival goers to get into the site on the Wednesday are priced at £15, with campervan passes priced at £60, and lockers £15. Day tickets are £85 for Friday or Saturday, as Sunday day tickets have sold out.

Tickets are limited to a maximum of four per person and per credit card for those booking online. U16s (15 & under) must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Children under 13 (12 and under) are admitted free but MUST be accompanied by a ticket holding adult. Please note there is no separate children's area at this event, and eFestivals considers this an event not really suitable for small children.

Note: Tickets will not be on sale at the gate. There will be no box office of any kind. All tickets will be sent out to customers. Overseas customers will need to pick up tickets from The Hexagon.
