At the press day of this year's Leeds festival eFestivals got a chance to have a Q&A session with Kasiuss a band who have secured a slot on the Festival Republic stage at noon this year.

Kasiuss
So, Kassius, how long have you been on the go?
Well, we've played together for years, since we were kids actually. This particular band has just been about a year.

Have you played festivals before?
We have in our old band, but we're very excited to be able to bring our fresher and more progressive stuff.

Do you think your material is well suited to a festival crowd, or more standard gig set-ups?
Both! We pride ourselves on the live show, it's what we think music should be all about. We're quite intense live so I like to think we can handle a festival scenario!

Of all your inspirations and amongst your record collection, what would you call the strangest?
Well the weirdest has to be Teletubbies and one of those pan-pipe CDs. It's not even genuine pan-pipes, more of a rip off! It horrible, strange covers like the Eastender's theme.

Have you got an established following who will be in attendance at Leeds?
Yeah, it's growing really rapidly now, which obviously helps! We've been working our behinds off trying to build a fanbase, and people seem to be taking nicely to what we have to offer.

How were you able to get onto the Leeds bill this year?
We entered the Futuresound competition and won it, which means we get to share the Festival Republic Stage with Ash.

Would you be able to compare your sound to anything else?
Think if you mix Foo Fighters, Muse and Coldplay. It's a big, anthemic sound so we're hoping to attract some attention that way.

Leeds Festival takes place on the bank holiday weekend, from Friday 27th to Sunday 29th August at Bramham Park, Leeds, West Yorkshire, with the sister event, Reading Festival, taking place the same weekend at Little Johns Farm, Richfield Avenue, Reading, Berkshire.
