The Pipettes certainly brought a refreshing vibrant atmosphere to Leeds festival, when they took to the stage early Saturday morning...well it was midday which is early if you have been out drinking the night before!!

So whilst majority of people were still sobering up in their tents the few people who had made the effort to make it into the main arena were in for a festival treat. The little crowd that had made the effort were treated to a set consisting of zesty, infectious and Ronettes-esque music.

The Pipettes

This is music straight from the 50’s era, just like a white version of the supremes. This short but sweet set had everything, sing-a-long music, nice colourful costumes, and Rolls Royce quality choreography - this band had the whole lot. More to the point their vocal harmonies are as close to angelic as one could possibly hope for. Becky Newmans are very similar to Kate Bush, Bjork and even Blondie to give you an idea of what the Pipettes soundlike.

But the biggest factor with seeing this band live is that quite simply they are fun to watch, and any band that can keep me entertained for the entire set are clearly doing something right.
