Leeds Festival 2003 review Wed 1st Oct 03 It's another hot day at Leeds, and so with the little bit of energy I have left after a weekend of drugs, sex, and rock n roll, I make my way towards the main stage for The Libertines. Sadly, troubled front man Pete Doherty was not present. So it was left up to Carl to entertain the crowd. Carl managed to pull off the vocals impressively, in the early afternoon sun. The crowd lapped up the new song 'Don`t Look Back into The Sun', but it was the older songs that got the best reaction like 'What A Waster' and 'Time For Heroes'. ![]() This was a great performance, and if I hadn't have seen The Libertines previously I wouldn't have thought there was anything wrong with this performance, despite the fact that they are still making brilliant music without Pete, there is just that x factor sadly missing from the bands live performance which Pete used to bring to it. review by Luke Seagrave photos by Luke Seagrave
