The dates for the 23rd festival of acoustic folk and world music, but also roots, blues, jazz, Americana, reggae are confirmed as Wednesday 17th to Sunday 21st July 2013.

Line-up

Van Morrison who headlines Wednesday, Dexys headline Thursday, and Seasick Steve on Friday, Imelda May on Saturday, and Bellowhead will headline Sunday. Also confirmed are KT Tunstall, Johnny Flynn & the Sussex Wit, The Bombay Royale, Gentlemans Dub Club, Phil King, Stone Donkey Pilots, Pronghorn, The Ben Waters Band, Megson, Cowbell, Ruth Theodore, Fran Smith, Manière des Bohémiens, The Woodland Creatures, Head North!, The Beat, Moscow Drug Club, Chris Woods, Flats & Sharps, Larkin Poe, Molotov Jukebox, Keston Cobblers Club, We Used to Make Things, Sam Lee and Friends, Lau, Treetop Flyers, Curtis Eller, The Severed Limb, Clinton Fearon, Blair Dunlop, Marc O'Reilly, Three Cane Whale, The Kilcawley Family, Thomas Ford, Still Moving DJs, and more.

There will be over over 100 bands and acts will perform on six stages, alongside a comedy club, 150 free workshops and a Sunday carnival.

The festival generally has a lovely chilled atmosphere, and is child-friendly, all set on a gorgeous site in lovely Victorian pleasure gardens with a free campsite next door, with free showers and well serviced toilets. There are also countless other attractions for all ages, including a carnival procession, 150 free workshops, theatre and talks, site art and a dedicated kids' zone.

Tickets

An adult weekend ticket is priced at £195 for all 5 days, £170 for 4 days, and £140 for 3 days, there are Youth (age 11-17), and Child (age 5-10) options also available. Individual Day tickets are priced at £45 for Friday, £60 for Saturday, and £50 for Sunday. A parking pass is priced at £5 (in advance), a van pass is priced at £45 (in advance), and under 5's are free.

Added to the ticket options available is a week-long holiday pass priced at £210 for adults, £150 for youth, and £75 for children aged over 5, with a dedicated luxury camping field providing hot showers, toilets, a café, campfire and barbecue area.

Festival entertainment

The festival has walkabout theatre and over 150 workshops for all ages from Thursday at 2pm onwards. There's circus skills from Thursday to Sunday, and 11 acres of gardens for children to explore with a huge adventure playground!

Street theatre

Larmer Tree Festival brings a huge array of street theatre performance. Crazy characters abound while lavish costumes, outlandish puppetry, capering and clowning are the order of the day.

Fancy dress

The Saturday fancy dress theme has been announced as 'Sat-hatter-day'.


Larmer Tree also presents a hand-picked selection of theatre, (staged in the Victorian pavilion Club Larmer) drawn from around the UK, including highlights from the world-renowned Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

The magical Lostwood area is expected to return. Celebrating the art of storytelling, poetry, spoken and written word this area is home to 60 free sessions for all ages. Amongst many other favourites the Late Night Storytelling sessions hopefully will be returning for all to enjoy.

Comfy Camping

Larmer Tree also offer Comfy Camping options including tipis in the Wigwam Sam tipi village, bell tent boutique camping with Hotel Bell Tent and for those who really want to be fully immersed in the 1950's theme there is the option of Airstream Trailers.

Breakthrough Music Awards

This year organisers are looking for breakthrough music acts to compete for a chance to perform at this summer's festival. Bands and musicians can apply by visiting the Community page at the Larmer Tree website and uploading their chosen track. Applications are open until 5pm on Sunday 24th March, so undiscovered performers should get recording straight away. Entries will be split into acoustic and electric categories, and artists from each and every genre are welcome.
