The Inter Varsity Folk Dance Festival (IVFDF) is the UK's longest running folk festival offering a series of concerts, ceilidhs and barn dances from a selection of folk artists.

The 6nd IVFDF takes place from Friday 1st until Sunday 3rd March 2013, at University of Sheffield, Sheffield, in South Yorkshire.

Line-up

Mawkin, Blackbeard's Tea Party, Professor Elemental, Bell Hagg Orkestar, Pilgrims' Way, Hekety, Luke Brady's Scottish Dance Band, Stick Shift, Sciorr:Staged, and The Albion Band. There's more still to be announced.

The festival is aimed squarely at students (although anyone who feels they can keep up is welcome) and run by a different university each year. IVFDF is a non-stop weekend based (fairly broadly) around traditional forms of music and dance.

Tickets

The early bird offer has ended. Tickets are priced at £28 for the weekend, £18 for students or children (aged 7 to 16).

Morris and Rapper tour

On Saturday afternoon there is expected to be a Morris and Rapper Tour through the centre of Sheffield. It will take in the main sights and a number of traditional pubs. The full itinerary will be announced when finalised.

The festival will also feature Ceilidh dances, together with a range of workshops, sessions, Morris, Rapper, French, Contra, and the infamous survivors ceilidh on the Sunday afternoon to round off the weekend.

Camping

IVFDF traditionally offers indoor camping.

More information will be here when available.
