Line-up

Jay-Z will headline the Friday, The Strokes will headline on Saturday, Paul McCartney will headline the Sunday with special guests Blondie on Saturday, and Pink on Sunday. Orbital headline the Big Top on Saturday, James on Sunday, with Squeeze headlining on Thursday for early arrivals who are camping. The line-up also includes Editors, The Courteeners, Reef, Noah and the Whale, Mr Hudson, Biffy Clyro, Florence And The Machine, N-Dubz, La Roux, Hockey, Crowded House, Doves, Calvin Harris, Vampire Weekend, Friendly Fires, Spandau Ballet, Ocean Colour Scene, Paloma Faith, The Saturdays, and more. The Big Festival Bike Ride

New for this year will be The Big Festival Bike Ride, a guided bike ride seeing more of the island that will take about an hour and a half happening on the Saturday and Sunday mornings before the bands start. The meeting point for this will be the London Bicycle Touring Company hire point and it only costs a tenner plus hire fee. If you bring your own bike you are welcome to join in too and you just have to pay £10.

Tickets

Every person attending the festival must purchase a ticket. This includes babes in arms. Tickets with camping were priced at £150, and have sold out. The price of an adult ticket without camping is £130 and £65 for children (aged 7 to 12 years). All children 6 years old and under on 11th June 2010 can go for free but must still have a ticket.

The festival which has a capacity of 60,000 has a large main stage in a natural amphitheatre that showcases well known rock and indie names, a legendary act or two, and rising stars, in a relaxed festival atmosphere.

The World Cup

This year the BT Vision Field of Dreams will play host to special screenings of every match from South Africa across the weekend on a 7mx5m screen.

Thursday entertainment

Making a return in 2010 is the 5,000 capacity circus style Big Top which plays host to a campers and Festival First Members only special night on the Thursday with Squeeze, and acts as a second stage once the festival begins.

Away from the Main Stage, is the Big Top, the Acoustic Stage, and the Platform One Bandstand offering unsigned acts and local bands, around 50 acts in all.

Opening times

The arena is open from 2pm until midnight on the Friday, 11am until midnight on the Saturday, and 11am until 11pm on the Sunday. No bottles, cans, chairs, etc, may be taken into the arena. The Campsites are open from noon on Thursday until noon on Monday. Strawberry Fields is expected to open on Thursday at 6pm until midnight for campers and Festival First Members.

Kids Zone

The Kids Zone will feature a variety of events, performances and arts & crafts throughout the three days. This year sees the return of the Rainbow Stage, which will feature performances from a variety of storytellers, magicians, musicians, circus acts, and more.
