Down To The Woods which replaced its predecessor of three years, Hardwick Live, has been cancelled, organisers of the event issued a statement saying, "Due to the present financial climate and current ticket sales a decision has been made to not proceed with this year's inaugural Down To The Woods Festival.

Having taken a long hard look at this year's event, we have had to make this very difficult decision which has not been taken lightly to cancel this year's Festival.

If you have purchased tickets for this year's festival you will have been sent an email regarding your full refunds.

We would like to thank all of you for supporting Down To The Woods Festival 2016, We hope by giving you as much notice as we could you are able to make alternative arrangements this summer.

Down To The Woods will be held on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th August 2016 at Hardwick Hall Hotel, Sedgefield, in County Durham.

Line-up

Headliners Chase & Status, and Primal Scream, plus Echo and the Bunnymen, Catfish & The Bottlemen, Vant, Clean Cut Kid, The Selecter, The Jacques, The Sunshine Underground, Peter Hook and the Light, KLOE, Holy Esque, Pixel Fix, Kagoule, Fronteers, White, Inheaven, Neon Waltz, No Hot Ashes, Tempesst, The Americas, The Barmines, Weekend Sun, Broken Witt Rebels, The White Negroes, Joe Crookall, and Joe Treacy, with even more acts to be announced soon.

The line-up for a third stage, Badgers Den, will also be announced in the coming weeks, with a focus on live comedy and DJs..

The new event promises to deliver heritage and new acts, plus comedy, dance DJs, spoken word, art and more than one or two surprises.

Organisers say, "Down To The Woods will launch with three stages and many pop up surprises. The stages are The Grand Arcadia where you will find our festival headliners and a host of other stunning acts, Foxes Folly, home to the best in new music and more of the artists you already adore and Badgers Den where comedy and dance reign supreme. There will of course be plenty of bars, food outlets, fairground rides and as for the rest…..If you go down to the woods today……"

Tickets

Weekend tickets are priced at £99. Tickets for adults (aged 17 years and over) are are priced £55. A young persons ticket (aged 13 to 16 years) is priced at £15, and a children’s ticket for those aged 3 to 12 years inclusive is priced at £8. Early bird tickets for Down To The Woods 2016 already sold out even before any of the line-up had been revealed.

Camping

The one-day festival is also offering visitors the opportunity to extend their stay, with a range of weekend accommodation packages priced from £30. This includes camping in the grounds of Hardwick Hall Hotel, Sedgefield from Friday afternoon (4pm) until noon on Sunday, with access to toilets, showers and 24-hour security.

There will also be a limited number of spaces for campervans, with parking charged at £50 per vehicle, just a short walk from the main festival stage.

Getting there

Travelling from Newcastle area - Leave the A1 at junction 60, turn left following the signs for Sedgefield at the first round about take the first left at the mini roundabout straight on Hardwick Hall is 500 yards on the left.
