GuilFest takes place at Stoke Park, Guilford in Surrey with the dates confirmed as Friday 4th to Sunday 6th July 2008.

This festival has a lovely friendly and laid-back vibe. Unlike some other festivals, you can immediately feel that this festival is being run to give everyone a great time, rather than to get rich quick!

On the music side the three headliners have been announced, The Levellers headline the opening night on Friday. Blondie will headline on Saturday 5th July. The Australian Pink Floyd Show will be bringing the festival to a close on Sunday. Other acts confirmed include Carbon/Silicon, System 7, 3 Daft Monkeys, Les McKeown's Bay City Rollers, 65daysofstatic, Fightstar, The Blackout, The Ghost of a Thousand, Foy Vance, Wills and the Willing, The Egg, Hallucinogen, KraftyKuts, Zucchero, Kula Shaker, From the Jam, Cerys Mathews, Freak Power, The Aliens, Bowling for Soup, Richie Havens, The Damned, Seth Lakeman, Royworld, Babyhead, Sonic Boom Six, and Dreadzone. For the line-up details as available please click here.

This year the UNISON Zone at GuilFest boasts a packed programme of events including a discussion with Tony Benn on the 60th Anniversary of the NHS. Plus performances from Dodgy, KiZmiT, Avondale 45, Gallows Humour, Moses Fireblade, WellAlive, The Pete Fryer Band, Mighty Redox, The Fabulous Fezheads, Eric Faulkner, Sundays Child, The Anydays, The Infidels, Meat Raffle Sunday plus Guests, Time For Action, Sonic Boom Six, Wills and the Willing (with Tom McRae), The Dirty Ugly Punk Monkeys, the Quick 50's, and many others to be announced.

There will also be Unsung Heroes Live Sessions at the UNISON Zone where festival goers just need to turn with an instrument of choice and play. There will be a standard drum kit, backline and pa all provided. Anyone who would like to perform in the Unsung Heroes Live Sessions, needs to contact the stage manager(s) on the Friday and they will say what session times are available. The Unsung Heroes Live Sessions are open to all GuilFest visitors.

The line-up on the main two stages is always peppered with classic and modern acts. The acts are always quality, so there's more enjoyment to be got from the bands than you might expect and there's even a late night Ceilidh, rock disco, acoustic lounge, and Farmer Giles Barn Dance this year.

Expect a great weekend of live music, comedy in the eFestivals comedy tent (full details including a little about each act here), children's entertainment, street theatre, art and crafts, delicious food from around the world and a truly festive atmosphere. There will also be a late licensed 150 foot beer tent and cocktail bar, an extensive KidZone and lots of clean toilets throughout the site and camping areas.

The Kidzone features more fun and games than ever before, with circus performances, face painting, and fun rides. On the Sunday it's over to the children for the annual Kids Parade, where the children get to show the rest of the festival what they have made over their weekend.

The EA games area is also back this year with the latest in video game technology, and a David Beckham Soccer Academy – offering free coaching sessions from professional coaches to children between the ages of 5 and 15, quiz activities, and even a football free-styler performing skills and tricks around the site.

Eden People will be running a ‘restful’ venue at GuilFest along side a new addition, the Guilfest Gallery – A Creative space to have a go at creative art, writing poetry even performing dance

Tickets are on sale priced as follows: Adults - £40 day, £90 weekend, £100 weekend with camping. Children between 12 – 16 years old - £30 day, £50 weekend, £60 weekend with camping. N.B.
