Guilfest takes place at Stoke Park, Guilford in Surrey from Friday 14th to Sunday 16th July 2006.

This is one of eFestivals favourite festivals, with a lovely friendly and laid-back vibe. Unlike some other festivals, you can immediately feel that this festival is being run to give everyone a great time, rather than to get rich quick!

The line-up on the main two stages is classic and modern acts of the type you might hear on Radio 2 (who sponsor the main stage). The acts are always quality, so there's more enjoyment to be got from the bands than you might expect.

The headliners are confirmed, with Embrace on the Friday, A-Ha on the Saturday, and Billy Idol on the Sunday. Also playing across the weekend are The Wonderstuff, Lightning Seeds, Gary Numan, The Stranglers, Sparks, and more. For the full details (as available) click here.

As well as the BBC Radio 2 Main Stage, there's the Ents24 Stage, two stages featuring new and unsigned bands, the Rockzone Cave, the Funky End Tent, the Comedy Tent, and more...

New for 2006 is the Man in the Moon Theatre Tent where parents can take their kids to join drama workshops. After dark the theatre tent will transform itself into its alter ego and perform shows for the older audience such as Frottage 11 and Saucy Jack’s.

The Jelly Tree Video Lounge is a place where you can chill-out and watch an eclectic selection of video art, short films and animation.

The Kidzone returns and is packed full of games, stilt walking, balloon modelling, face painting and drawing. On the Sunday it’s over to the children for the annual Kids Parade, where the children get to show the rest of the festival what they have made over their weekend.

This year sees James Dowdeswell, Tom Stade and BBC Radio 4’s Milton Jones providing comedy in the Hush Puppies Comedy Lounge.

There will also be an all new Digital Fun Fair, and the chance to play the very latest games in the Nintendo Marquee.

The music starts at around 5pm on the Friday, and noon on Saturday and Sunday. Music finishes at 11pm on Friday and Saturday, with an earlier 9:30pm finish on Sunday.

Tickets cost £85 for the three days, or £95 with camping. Day tickets are £40 for any day. Under-16s £50, or £60 with camping, £25 any day. Under-12s are FREE. Click here to buy.
