Kasabian claimed they would not be playing any festivals this year, instead concentrating on the support slot for this years huge Oasis shows. However when asked by Michael Eavis if they would like to warm up for The Boss they dutifully replied yes. So here we are at the sunset spot on Saturday evening & the Pyramid field is crammed full.

The band open up with the Apocalypse Now inspired 'Underdog' which with its strange guitar effects work great on the Pyramid stage with no interaction from Meighan the song quickly passes until 'Shoot The Runner' gets the first "Put your hands in the air" moment, then its back to 2003's 'Processed Beats' which gets the fantastic response it deserves. 'Empire' crashes in with no announcement by the band which sounds loud & fills the Pyramid arena with its booming choruses with the crowd singing along to every word.

New song 'Swarfega' sounds great as does 'Fast Fuse' then its back to old live favourite 'The Doberman'. New single 'Fire' is already proving to be a huge live favourite with everyone joining in with the Wild West Indian type howling which are performed by 3 beautiful backing singers. 'Vlad The Impaler' is also a ready known song having been given away free through the Kasabian website before the album launched.

'Club Foot' gets everyone calling and answering again whilst 'LSF' gets the new intro section with Serge singing the first couple of verses from Candi Staton's You Got The Love.

A truly fantastic performance by Kasabian, love em or hate em they could have headlined this year & I am sure we will see them next year at Glastonbury. I truly hope we do.
