This Onions performance at Glastonbury is slightly down on the week before, not helped by a sparse audience and a difficult mix - the guitar too loud and the inter-tune banter too quiet. The band, I suspect, were a bit nervous too – subtly hinted at when they announce that they have been “sh***ing themselves”.

Still, they have some good tunes, sandwiched between their best ones, opener ‘Onion’ and closing ‘It Aint Gonna Happen Now’. It’s a good time pop feel, a little bits 60’s beat combo with some with some nice swirly Korg work to close. ‘Voted better that the Super Furry Animals by everyone in here’ says our announcer. Well, not really, but certainly not a waste of a half hour by any stretch of the imagination. But find out for yourself by booking them, and many other aspiring acts out there, to brighten up your home town.
