I had heard of Gemma Hayes through an online friend and downloaded a couple of her songs which were pleasant laid back folksy type stuff. So seeing her on the bill early on Saturday at the Other Stage, I decided to go take a look. What we got there wasn't a laid back folksy singer but an up for it rocky set with screaming guitar riffs delivered by "the babe of the festival".
With her beautiful voice and great crowd repartee, including an unscheduled shot of whiskey passed from the crowd, she left us all hungry for more from this up and coming Irish singer/songwriter.
