Sunday late afternoon and a moderate crowd assembled ready to admire the talents of Sarah Cracknell and crew. 2 years ago the sun made a rare appearance (glasto 98), which was attributed Sarah's gold boob tube she was wearing that time. On this occasion the sun was already out and hence a gold sleeveless jacket was worn instead.

The set focussed on the new album Sound of Water. Some old favourites - Only Love Can Break Your Heart (with a long bassy intro), Over Again and Nothing Can Stop Us - were played but it didn't seem enough to get the audience involved. Nice breezy pop but with a clear lack of familiarity with the new stuff the atmosphere felt a bit flat.

A charming Cracknell performance, as usual, did attempt to arouse the crowd but a combination of a not particularly inspiring set and some glitches such as a false start meant that it sadly failed to really do the trick… but then that's St Etienne.
