New this year is the introduction of a Classical Tent, with licenced attendance increased to 60,000. Because of the expansion, there is major internal re-organisation to cope, with many aspects re-located to more suitable positions on the site.

Acts include: The Cure, Psychedelic Furs, The Pogues, The waterboys, Madness, Simply Red, Housemartins, Go-Betweens, June Brides, The Nightingales, Dream Syndicate, Half Man Half Biscuit, Microdiusney, Woodentops, Level 42, Fuzzbox, Billy Bragg, Ted Chippington, Ruby Turner.

CND and local charities benefit to the tune of £130,000.
