Benicassim has something to offer across the whole musical spectrum, as indie and rock bands rub shoulders with DJs and more experimental music projects.

Established in 1994 and now in its 15th year, the International Benicàssim Festival, FIB Heineken, near Valencia, Spain is back for 2009 from Thursday 16th until Sunday 19th July. With camping thrown in with the ticket price, all night music over 4 days, and sited just walking distance from the beach and a huge water park.

Oasis headline Thursday, Kings of Leon headline Friday, Franz Ferdinand headline Saturday, and The Killers headline Sunday. Paul Weller, The Psychedelic Furs, Lily Allen, 2manydjs, Foals, Glasvegas, Elbow, Maximo Park, The Horrors, Mystery Jets, Magazine, Fight Like Apes, TV on the Radio, Late of the Pier, Bell X1, White Lies, and Friendly Fires, are some of the acts confirmed so far. As well as this diverse array of musical performers, the festival has an extensive bill of non-musical entertainment, including dance, art, theatre, fashion, silent disco and short films.

There's the usual markets, bars, and food outlets. Several other celebrations of the arts take place within the Benicassim festival, including a short film festival, a fashion weekend, art exhibition, and a festival of dance and choreography, with educational arts courses on top of all this provided by local university, Universidad Jaume I.

There were early bird tickets available. Tickets were on sale, priced at £160 for the four days, these have sold out. Thursday or Friday tickets are available at £67.50. To buy, click here.
