Farmer Phil's Festival has expanded to a three day festival in 2009 and takes place on Friday 14th to Sunday 16th of August in Ratlinghope, Shropshire.
The festival caters for 2000 people and the organisers call it a family friendly event. There will be food and drink available on site (which caters for vegetarians too), as well as flush toilets, licensed bars, stalls, craft and merchandise tents, woodcarving, newsagent/tobacconist on site for supplies, and quiet family area. Fireworks finale on Friday night.
The acts confirmed so far are: Never the Bride, The Splitters, The Cracked Actors, The Coal Porters, Root'n' Toot'n', Denny Lloyd, H.M.V Band, Flipron, Bleeding Harts, and Weapons of Sound, and there are many more bands to be confirmed. For the line-up details as available please click here.
Camping is included in the price and is available before (from Thursday 7th August) and after the festival by arrangement.
Early bird tickets are priced at £50 weekend ticket including free camping, day tickets £28 offer is on only until Tuesday 30th June, standard ticket prices from then on will be £55 for weekend tickets. To buy tickets click here.
As well as the main stage, there is an acoustic stage, a music workshops/comedy tent, a silent disco, workshops and discussions on green issues are running through out the weekend, and there is a Sunday farmers market. Alternative therapies can be explored in the Healing area. There is a dedicated area for children with Jack the Jester and his friends performing circus workshops, with story tellers and craft and art work shops. All children's entertainment is free.
This year is the festival's 12th year. Farmer Phil's also promotes sustainability and tries to raise awareness of green life style choices.
