The 7th annual Cwlwm Celtaidd (translates as Celtic Knot) offers a packed programme of concerts, festival favourites, and new acts, music sessions, plus ceilidhs and workshops throughout the weekend.

The Celtic Festival of Wales has expanded to four days, taking place from Thursday 26th until Sunday 29th March 2009 at The Bar Complex at Coney Beach Funfair, on Porthcawl Seafront, Wales. With the main stage open until 1.45am every night and a smaller bar showcasing new acts.

The headliners for 2009 have been confirmed as The Red Hot Chilli Pipers on Thursday at Grand Pavilion, and Mabon on the Saturday, at the Coney Beach Bar Complex. Other confirmed acts include The Mollag Band, Gwelloc'h, Calan, Rachel Hair, The Midden, Colum Regan, Gerry Nash, Harriet Earis Trio, Brigyn, Gwyneth Glyn, One String Loose, Reelin' Stones, Pete Berryman, City Of Newcastle Pipers, Allan Yn Y Fan, Perree Bane Manx Dancers, Christine Wilson Dancers, Ceoltoiri Le Cheile, Dawnswyr Penyfai, and Danswyr Tawerin.

This year the festival adds a Celtic Craft Fair on Salt Lake Green, and a parade of dancers and musicians from the Celtic Countries along John Street, to the seafront and around to Salt Lake Green, from 11.30am - 1.30pm.

Accommodation is available in mobile homes at Tresco holiday Park, although spaces are now limited, costs are reasonable with an eight berth mobile home costing around £120 for the weekend - that's £15 each. All caravans include a furnished lounge and dining area, one double and one or two twin bedroom/s, and convertible beds in the lounge. Prices include gas, electricity and heating but it may be cold so you are advised to bring extra bedding.

For campers and touring caravans, there is also The White Wheat Caravan Site which is open for the festival.
